Ronelle and Skye

Today we went to downtown George to talk to some locals and spread the word of Christ. I was with Heather and Johnny walking along Meade St. in the middle of the city.

We were walking through the residential area of Meade, when a woman named Ronelle stopped us to help her move stuff from the garage to the street. We couldn't say no, so we immediately stopped to help her move. Heather asked here where she was taking all of this stuff, and Ronelle said she didn't know. She didn't have enough money to pay the rent for her house, so she and her two sons were moving out, without any knowledge of where they were going. That's crazy and takes such faith, faith that I often doubt that I have.

Heather prayed for her and encouraged her with telling her that God will provide if you put your trust it Him.

Johnny started talking to Ronelle's son Skye, who was absolutely adorable. Johnny heard God say that Skye will be a champion, and he truly will be.

Once we were finished, Johnny, Heather, and I continued our walk back to meet everyone else. We discussed how God totally worked this encounter out for us. It turns out that I had seen Ronelle from afar when we were walking the opposite way on the street. I noticed her, but I didn't think that she could be the person God would choose for us to encounter. Then Heather picked up a piece of trash and read the words "TWICE" on the package. She though about who we had seen twice, and then I told her that I saw Ronelle twice. Crazy how God works!

Today was my first experience at street evangelizing, and it was a very God-filled time. I learned about listening for His voice in everything. I was really nervous at first, but after seeing how God worked this out, I am more than excited to see what's next.

Abby :)
