So, I may have just graduated with a minor in English, but photographs are definitely where my expression is best found. Maybe one day I'll write a blog.......but for now I'll stick with showing you some pictures!
We went on an adventure on Sunday that began with a canoe ride. Abby, Simon and Pierce made quite the comedic team.
The view was beautiful! It felt like we were in the middle of an Indiana Jones movie, just no one was shooting poisonous darts at us.
We had a picnic lunch by a waterfall, which was breath-taking. Abby and Heather were two of the crazies to swim in the freezing water. Heather said she has a new understanding of how the victims of the Titanic must have felt.
Johnny channelling his inner monkey. Monkeys run around here at Makani and try and steal things. Johnny hit one with a rock today!
We get shuttled around in a Nissan, which only has 4 real seats. The not-so-lucky ones get shoved in the back, resulting in many cuddle puddles and comedic moments.
We got to hang out with kids in Blanco at the Horizon program, where we shared a Bible story, played games and fed the kids.
The kids didn't even bother to learn Ryan's name, they just called him Justin. Yes, as in Justin Bieber.
This is Kaitlin. I wanted to steal her so bad. She has the most beautiful laugh and smile I have ever seen. This little girl has so much joy you can't help but laugh and smile with her. I experienced Jesus in a beautiful way through her, and saw Him shining through her.
Cuddle puddles on Abby and Heather's bed is a nightly ritual. It is so cold in our rooms that it is basically a necessity! Our team is pretty much all about the cuddling.
Here is Ryan teaching some kids (all around 12 years old) at a private school here in George. The girls all fell in love with him by the end of his lecture. Which he did a great job with!
This is our sad little teddy bear prototype...he is very unfortunately deformed, and looks strangely like a mouse combined with a bear. A bouse. Or a mear. You decide.
So that is a little of what we have been up to! Stay tuned for rugby pictures, Jeffrey's Bay and some new and exciting hair styles!
Alicia, now aren't you glad I made you listen to Justin Beiber? Now you have things to do with the kids in South Africa! Haha!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are having such an incredible time and experiencing God in amazing ways!!!
